theory of how the world will end: The gap between an occurrence and people feeling nostalgic for said occurrence is shrinking. In the seventies there was a huge wave of nostalgia for the fifties. In 2012, various bloggers on here are already nostalgic for 2004. This nostalgia gap, so to speak, is going to keep shrinking until the average person is unable to take a breath without immediately feeling nostalgic for it, bringing civilization to a grinding halt.
